Tales is one of the oldest series of JRPGs, games that have been released since the mid-90s. The plot of Tales of Arise begins with the story of the slave Alphen, who does not remember anything about his past, including his name. However, everything changes when a girl named Shionne intervenes in his humdrum slave life, fleeing from persecution. He decides to help the stranger and also escape. Like in many classic JRPGs, the plot develops quite slowly, and the story itself does not shine with uniqueness, as the heroes are going to destroy six villains, who are mocking the people by all means possible. Each arch offers something new. For example, while in the first one, the players liberate the people from slave labor, in the second one, they find themselves in the city where no one trusts anyone because they can denounce each other to get the reward. Further on, things will be even more enjoyable. The developers try to explain almost every detail, but they often do it outside of the plot to avoid disturbing the narrative. Moreover, the players can talk to the characters to learn something new. The combat system in Tales of Arise is active, but the battles take place in separate arenas classically. The player can use the usual attack and three functional abilities to be used on the ground and in the air. Additionally, evasion and a unique finishing move are activated when the special game's scale is complete. Each character has its own ultra ability, which must be used manually by pressing the appropriate button. Such skills can be handy in certain situations. For participation in battles, players get skill points, allowing them to learn active and passive abilities. The progression is divided into sections, and if the player fills one out completely, an extra bonus is given. Some segments are only unlocked after meeting specific conditions. Fans of the series can also notice changes in the visuals. Graphically Tales of Arise game was significantly transformed due to the transition to Unreal Engine 4. Tales of Arise game also has microtransactions. In other words, players can buy levels and gold, increase health, speed up the progression, increase the maximum number of consumables, making the passage of the game more comfortable. However, of course, the game can be fully completed without spending a dime. Tales of Arise is a successful edition that can be definitely recommended to the fans of the JRPG genre. Everything is designed on the highest level, so it is interesting to follow the development of the characters' relations, travel the world, and take part in fascinating battles. So if you are looking for an excellent adventure for dozens of hours, you should definitely consider Tales of Arise!
