Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy game produced by Eidos Montreal is a linear narrative adventure. And it's not based on a particular comic book or movie - it's just one of the alternate universes featuring well-known characters, but their fate is different. Moreover, you don't need to read the Marvel dictionary beforehand; all the information about the game's world will be given to you right away. But if you have seen the movies, you have more than enough information to enjoy this game. You don't even have to be a fan - Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is very self-sufficient as a separate story of its world.
The Plot
You play the role of Peter Quill, the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy squad. Despite their heroic status, these five heroes are almost always broke and searching for money which always gets them in trouble and on the most-wanted lists. This time, the Guardians venture into a quarantined forbidden sector to capture a monster to sell it. Obviously, the mission fails; the Guardians are caught by the police and given a ticket. At the same time, Peter accidentally releases a powerful creature, and while the Guardians embark on another dubious way to get money, evil is trying to consume the whole galaxy. And that's only the beginning of the adventures!Characters
The game characters are very similar to the movie ones, but in the game world, their fates are different: Thanos didn't collect the rings and was killed by Drax, Quill isn't friends with Yondu, and the Avengers don't exist in this universe at all. You'll be able to read some of this information, but most of it will be revealed to you by the characters along the way.Gameplay
As stated earlier, you only play for Peter Quill and can't control the other members of the squad. But during the battles, you can control other characters, giving them commands, so they can perform special moves to fight the enemies more effectively. Battles occur in areas where you meet dozens of identical soldiers or creatures, and until you kill them all, you won't move further. The game has very flexible complexity settings, where, for example, you can raise the damage from Quill's cannons.Visuals and Sound
The game looks phenomenal - the detailing, design, locations, textures, light, colorful planets - everything looks fantastic. You will surely want to stop it during the game and take a nice screenshot or replay it all over again for the dynamic and exciting scenes. Another essential feature that creates the appropriate atmosphere in the game is music, or to be more precise, the Star-Lord playlist. According to the plot, Peter Quill leaves the planet Earth with an old Walkman player, where the cassette contains various cool tracks from the '80s. It makes the gameplay even more dynamic and energizing.System requirements
