House Flipper 2 - Europe
House Flipper 2 for PC is a house improvement and selling strategy game, the sequel to the surprisingly successful first game in the series. This game is set in a fictional American town called Pinnacove. (Pinna is a direct translation for the Italian word for ‘flipper’ and many of the townsfolk have Italian roots, adding charm and quirkiness to the setting.)
About the Game
In the first game, you had to take on odd jobs to earn enough to start flipping houses, but in this game, you have a more developed story. You begin by helping out the residents of Pinnacove and work your way up, following the equivalent of a ‘story mode’ until you have enough to buy homes and start flipping them. Or, you can jump straight to sandbox mode in which you can start building the home of your dreams right away. You can also have a bit more fun in this game, with some mini games available to you: you can by a chess set and play a game, or you can just take out the trash! Instead of just vanishing rubbish, like in the first game, in this one you will collect it into a bin bag, which can then be thrown into a dustbin from some distance away, making it into a tiny – but very satisfying mini game! Once lobbed into the bin, the rubbish will vanish as before, so you don’t have to worry about arranging bin collections or anything like that. The Nitty Gritty
You can also repair broken walls by replacing damaged bricks. And, a pleasant surprise is that you can do this without having to buy bricks first, so you can get a good start on. Your sledgehammer can work to remove single bricks or a whole lot at once. Vacuuming is on the tool wheel and you simply press and hold the button to pick up small bits of dirt and debris. Cleaning is new and improved too: in the original game you had to mop everything – this time, you have a spray bottle and cleaning cloth. And you can use just the cloth on light stains, saving the cleaning fluid for heavier grime. Windows have their own cleaning options too, you can use the specialist window cleaning tool on dirty glass. To tile a wall, you must first lay down a layer of glue, then fit your tiles over this. You can make sure that you only work on the bit of wall that needs it, by pre-selecting the area to be tiled before you set to work. If you then decide to upgrade the tiles, you will have to reapply a layer of glue before selecting the new tiles. Tiles can be purchased from the shop. Painting, if tiling is not your thing, is done one square at a time with a paint roller. Again, you can pre-select the area to be painted so you don’t accidentally go over an already completed wall. As you work and earn, you can upgrade your roller to cover three squares at once – and be sure to browse to see what else is waiting for you in the upgrades! The heart of the game’s essence is probably found in the flipper tool, which features four functions: sell, change style, copy style, and duplicate item. To sell an item, simply select ‘sell’ and it will vanish; the corresponding refund appearing immediately. Change now allows actual changes to be made, rather than selling the item and then having to buy it again from the shop, this time in the right style. Make sure your furniture and fittings match with ‘copy style’ – if the items have this facility. And duplicating an item is seamless, creating a new item exactly like the duplicated one, without your having to hunt about and find it in the shop. What’s New?
Some of the new features in this game over the first game in the series are:- The ability to share houses with friends
- You can move items that are placed on or inside others all at once. That is to say, if you place a vase on a table, you can move the table and the vase together, rather than having to do it separately as in the original game
- You can make roof repairs to your home, adding a whole new repertoire to your skill set
- The graphics are so much better than the original game!
- The reworked soundtrack makes working on your homes a doddle!
